Process is key and not all cabinet painters take the care and attention to detail that we do. Sadly, most customers do not have the knowledge to understand all the steps necessary to ensure a 5-star paint job that will last for many years. We share and publish our process here so that you know exactly what we intend to do. Inferior cabinet painters will charge less and then cut corners leaving you with an inferior job that will chip, crack – and simply will not last.
Cabinet Painting Guru:
- Cleans, degreases, de-glosses and sands your existing panels.
- Applies a primer that blocks in the tannins (oils) that exist in most panels. If the correct primer is not used, the tannins release and can leave you with pink streaks in your cabinets – six months, a year, or two years after your project is completed.
- Applies the best paint in the world that we import from Europe.
- Inspects your cabinets and shares care instructions with you.

If you find a quote for new cabinets is a few thousand more than painting — something doesn’t add up. You need to compare the quality of the proposed wood panels in their quote – as it is not likely that it will be of the quality of your existing wood panels.
