Cabinet Painting Guru is a veteran-owned kitchen cabinet painting company serving central New Jersey. We paint, refinish and reface kitchen cabinets in Princeton, Hopewell, Lawrenceville, Skillman and throughout Mercer County. We’re licensed and insured in New Jersey, and most kitchens are finished in 4 to 6 days.

Kitchen Cabinet Painting in NJ

Many of the kitchens we paint have solid wood cabinets that are simply dated: orange oak, dark cherry, or a builder-grade finish worn through near the sink and stove. Those boxes are worth keeping. Painting them costs a fraction of new cabinets and changes the look of the whole room.

Our crew removes your doors and drawer fronts and takes them to our shop for prep and spraying. In your kitchen, we mask every surface that shouldn’t get paint, then prep and spray the cabinet frames in place.

How the Process Works

Every job follows our published 18-point process. It starts with a free in-home consultation where we look at your cabinets, talk through colors and sheens, and confirm painting is the right fit. On the first work day we remove doors and drawers and mask the kitchen. The frames are cleaned, degreased, sanded, primed and sprayed on site while the doors are finished in our shop. On the last day we reinstall everything, walk through the kitchen with you and go over care instructions. See what each day looks like.

New Jersey Cabinet Painting FAQs

Yes. Cabinet Painting Guru is licensed and insured in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Ask any contractor you’re considering to show you both before work starts.

Most kitchens take 4 to 6 days from the day we remove the doors to the final walkthrough. Larger kitchens, built-ins or door replacement can add time, and we give you a schedule at the consultation.

Usually, yes. Solid wood cabinets in older homes are often the best candidates for paint. We use a primer that blocks tannins so the wood’s natural oils don’t bleed through the new finish, a common problem with oak and cherry.
